Finding a Healthcare Provider

It’s said that people spend more time researching their new TV purchase than they do choosing a doctor. Really think about that….

When seeking a Healthcare Provider it may take some time to find someone that you align with and that will take your insurance, but your health is the most important asset you have and should be treated as such.

It’s sad but true, all healthcare providers are not the same. There are still practicing doctors who think and tell their patients that Type 2 Diabetes is not reversible even though the contrary has been proven for over 30 years.

So what’s important when choosing someone to partner with on your health?

  1. Is that person fit and healthy? I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to see an overweight physician or trainer. I don’t want to use a financial advisor who is in debt. I want to go to someone who clearly prioritizes their health and fitness and walks the walk, not just talks the talk.

  2. Do they focus on lifestyle choices and changes rather than throwing a list of pharmaceuticals at you?

  3. Are they up to date with the most recent literature? A LOT of physicians are practicing at least 10 years behind the most current information.

  4. Do they stress the importance of physical, emotional and spiritual health?

  5. How is their office environment? Is it clean and welcoming with friendly staff? Or cold and sterile with people who seem to hate their job?

*If you’re looking for a healthcare provider specifically for GLP-1s than it may take you a while to find someone who is fully educated in the topic as most physicians are clueless to their uses and benefits let alone their dosing and contraindications.
